The picturesque town of Sedbergh (2 miles) is known for its independent bookshops and has three welcoming pubs as well as some lovely restaurants and friendly cafes or grab a takeaway if that's more your thing . Or why not visit Sedbergh's weekly market on Wednesday mornings to buy your fresh local produce. Exploring the Dales, landmarks include Cautley Spout (6.5 miles), Pendragon Castle (14.5 miles) and White Scar Cave (18 miles). Both Kendal (9.5 miles) and the pretty market town of Kirkby Lonsdale (11 miles) have some great places to eat and drink. Heading over into the Lake District National Park, a wealth of attractions include Sizergh Castle (15 miles) and Lakeland Wildlife Oasis (16 miles).
