Property Overview

Derwentwater is a fantastic base for family holidays, offering two marinas, canoe and rowing boat hire and popular cruises. Surrounding the lake is a welcoming cafe, a picturesque walled garden, friendly pub, and the bustling market town of Keswick, just 2 miles from the property. Here you will find a host of independent shops and eateries to explore including a celebrated bookshop and seasonal Victorian Fayre and Christmas Market. For cyclists, Whinlatter Forest, 3.5 miles away, offers a wealth of adventurous trails as well, while excellent road cycling can be enjoyed along the Honister, Newlands and Whinlatter passes. After a busy day, return to the village of Portinscale for a hearty meal in the dog friendly local pub. Inside, this recently renovated property is spacious, light and elegantly finished with stylish contemporary style furnishings and a carefully coordinated colour palette. Spend quality time together in the spacious open plan kitchen/diner, which opens through large, glazed doors into the garden, creating an al fresco feel all year round. The modern kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, microwave, induction hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso machine (remember to bring your own pods with you). Enjoy a glass of wine at the breakfast bar or admire the mountain view from the sofa before enjoying home cooked meals at the extending dining table. The separate lounge is a cosy space for warming up after a long walk, with its wood burner, Smart TV and large bay window. Also on the ground floor is a handy utility area with a washing machine and a bathroom with walk in shower and elegant free standing bath perfect for soothing tired muscles at the end of the day.
