Set in an old, stately building, Heartstrings manages to retain some of that history while modernising the interiors, in order that everything is comfortable. The sheer amount of space available helps, but the mix of textures and materials works fabulously to give the space a bit of personality. Add in the fact that you’re right in the middle of Chiado, and just around the corner from the Carmo convent, and it starts to feel like you’re on to something.
Home truths: *You'll have to take the stairs to the first floor, there's no lift
*The long patio at the back doesn't get much sunlight
*Both the master bedroom and the second bedroom look out on to a lively square, so it might get noisy at night
