Beautifully situated manor house, in the middle of a large vineyard with extensive views of the mountainous surroundings. You can feel the centuries-old history of the family that has lived here for several hundred years to this day. Wonderful, atmospherically decorated interiors. Very nice hosts, very helpful and willing to share the history of the place and the surrounding area. Excellent white wine from their own vineyard. A very convenient starting point for exploring northern Portugal.

Fourth time there. That says it all: our favorite place to stay in Portugal. You feel like you're in a palatial mansion a hundred years ago with a park, pool and a wonderful view (and WiFi). And when the weather is bad, you can easily stay indoors.
