You'll find this Grade II listed Georgian townhouse situated on a street that might look familiar – it's been the backdrop for many films, including the Personal History of David Copperfield. There's no doubt that this area is brimming with history and heritage and this home is the same, filled with period features and modern conveniences that perfectly marry old with new.
The cosiest room is the living area, with its sumptuous sofas, sash windows and a crackling fireplace taking centre stage. Upstairs, the bedrooms each have their own personality and original character – we particularly love the ornamental fireplace in the main bedroom – and a separate study provides a bit of peace if you need to work from home. Fancy cooking? The kitchen is stocked with dinnerware, crockery and everything else you'll need to whip up something delicious to share around the ten-seater dining table. But our favourite spot is the sunny courtyard, where you can sip your morning coffee and enjoy cocktails on slow, summer evenings.
The icing on top is the location. You're just steps away from the River Ouse and the offerings in King's Lynn, including cinemas, museums, local shops and gorgeous churches. Stroll down the cobbled lanes and admire the old merchant's houses, then pop into one of the pubs in town for a nightcap and a hearty meal.
Home truths: *One guest will sleep on the sofa bed in the study, but only if this is requested and approved by the host beforehand
*Because of the heritage status of the street, there's no on-site parking – however, you can unload your bags and then park in one of the two paid lots nearby, which the host will reimburse you for as long as you retain your receipts
*A high chair, travel cot and stair gate can be provided for little ones
*This home has a private entrance
