Daisy's Cottage is everything you would expect from an archetypical Cornish character cottage. Converted from a stone barn to a high standard, it has exposed stonework and old oak beams (not too low!), slate floors, a cosy woodburner and a lovely large enclosed garden, perfect for dogs and/or kids to run around in safety, or just for you to sit in a lounger enjoying the peace with a good book or a glass of wine!
Daisy's Cottage is set in a tranquil rural location down a short farm track off a quiet leafy lane on the side of the Camel Valley, a stone's throw from the wild and beautiful Bodmin Moor and just a 20 minute drive to several great beaches. The village of St Breward, just over a mile away, boasts the highest pub and church in Cornwall and wonderful views over the Moors and countryside right out to the coast can be enjoyed on the way. The friendly ancient pub is called The Old Inn and has slate floors and huge granite fireplaces (lit in Winter) in the characterful dog-friendly old bars, with a pool room, small garden and an additional large restaurant area behind serving generous pub food and a selection of beers.
The area is superb for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts and is also ideally situated to explore the many beaches and stunning coastline of the county. The Camel Trail starts just a mile further on from St Breward at Wenford Bridge - 18 miles of former railway line beside the River Camel, now converted to a level walking and cycling trail, leading all the way through Wadebridge to Padstow if you're that energetic! Bikes can be hired locally. Or maybe follow Poldark's footsteps on horseback from Halagenna riding stables at St Breward, used in the filming, a really great way to explore The Moor! Whatever your fancy, Daisy's is in a great spot for taking full advantage of all Cornwall has to offer, whilst providing a peaceful and comfortable haven to return to at the end of a day's adventures.
