The village of Harome, with two well known restaurants, is close by. Cyclists will enjoy exploring the Kirkdale and Kirkbymoorside Cycle Route, while the North York Moors National Park is a haven for walkers. Pickering (10.5 miles) is the base of the North York Moors Steam Railway a day out for all in the area. Castle Howard is only 9 miles away, while York, and the Yorkshire Coast are within a 27 mile radius.
