On the northeastern tip of the island of Anglesey, in a lovely coastal setting, is the small beach community of Amlwch. The community, which formerly hosted prosperous mining operations, today hosts a variety of events and attractions, making it the perfect destination for a family vacation. Visit the Old Mine Works at Mynydd Parys to see the red, yellow, and purple rocks, which some people have compared to the Moon's surface, or learn about the history of Amlwch and its copper mining tradition on the Heritage Copper Trail, a section of the lovely 125-mile coastal path that winds its way along the coast of Anglesey.
