Experience the charm and character of Bridge Cottage in Wiithypool, Somerset. This spacious and inviting cottage can accommodate up to 5 guests in two upstairs bedrooms with picturesque views of the garden and river. The bedrooms include a double with an antique brass bed and a family room with a double and a single bed.
Relax in the exquisite sunroom with double patio doors leading directly to the beautiful riverside gardens. Enjoy cosy evenings in the living room with a huge inglenook fireplace and comfortable seating. The large farmhouse kitchen comes with modern appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, electric double cooker, and gas hob. There's also a convenient utility room for wet boots and coats.
The cottage has a downstairs W.C. and an upstairs family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The large enclosed garden with river frontage provides access to the river along the entire frontage (not fenced along the river side). Two dogs are welcome for an additional supplement of £15 per dog.
Off-road parking is available for two cars. The village location, with a pub, tea rooms, and shop all within easy walking distance, makes this cottage the perfect base for exploring the open moorland just a short distance from the front door.
Check-in is from 4 pm, and check-out is by 10 am. Please note that guests are welcome to have visitors, but overnight stays are only allowed if bed spaces are not exceeded. Any disturbances caused by guests may result in eviction, and no refund will be issued for lost holiday days.

Facilities The accommodation briefly comprises: Downstairs; Living room with large fireplace with wood-burning stove, an extremely well appointed farmhouse kitchen, utility room and downstairs W.C. An exquisite sunroom (third bedroom if required) with double patio doors leading directly onto the riverside gardens. Upstairs; two large bedrooms, one double with antique brass bed and a further well furnished family room with one double and a single bed. A family bath/shower room with W.C All rooms enjoying views of the river and gardens.
There is a travel cot if required for an additional fee. The stair gate is provided in the cottage (please bring your own bedding for the cot). A hair dryer, iron and ironing board are provided for your convenience.
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The cottage has oil-fired central heating which can be adjusted to suit your preferences and the seasons. A starter basket of logs and kindling will be provided for the wood-burner in the cooler months.
Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips and/or for use in the garden/river.
There may be non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets/powder, and surface cleaner will be present in the property. Two toilet rolls will be provided per toilet and hand wash.
Dogs are welcome but not permitted to on the furniture or upstairs. Dogs are charged at £15 per dog, maximum of 2 dogs per booking.
Location WALKING IN AND AROUND WITHYPOOL Whether it’s just a short gentle walk or trekking for the whole day, Exmoor has one of England’s most beautiful landscapes for walking. Withypool is set in the heart of Exmoor and is surrounded by walks all over the moors, along the River Barle to Lanacre Bridge or Tarr Steps. There are guided walks organized for those who would like to learn more about the area, or if you fancy venturing out by yourselves, pop into the local village shop where they have plenty of walk books of the area.
HORSE RIDING ACROSS THE MOORS Exmoor is a rider’s paradise. There are plenty of riding stables in the area. You can trek across the open moorland, through picturesque villages or spectacular wooded riverside trails. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, Exmoor can cater for your needs.
FISHING Exmoor boasts some stunning places to fish. There are spectacular river valleys, lakes, ponds and also coastal fishing. With beautiful scenery and clean fresh air makes Exmoor a special pleasure that will make you want to come back time and time again. Day Tickets are available from various outlets, like hotels, tourist information offices, Local farms and specialist fishing agents.
CLIMBING Exmoor has some spectacular high sea cliffs. Valley of the rocks is well known spot for climbing or if you fancying learning, we have an indoor climbing centre near South Molton. We have also one of the tallest rope courses just our side Minehead.
CYCLING Exmoor provides some of the best cycle routes. There is quiet country lanes through small villages and hamlets, an array of bridle paths through gentle slopping valleys of for the real enthusiast, some steep challenging hills. Bring your own cycle or hire one locally and explore Exmoor’s peaceful, charming countryside.
SAFARIS The perfect way to explore Exmoor. There are several safari companies on Exmoor. Whether you like to search out the elusive red deer and the famous Exmoor ponies, follow a local hunt or even just see what Exmoor has to offer, with its pretty villages and stunning winding valleys, hiring a guided safari is a great way to start your holiday.
SHOOTING Exmoor has plenty of shooting experiences, whether its Clay pigeon shooting, a simulated game shoot or even a real game shoot, Exmoor offers it all. Experience is not essential as we can offer qualified instructors with lessons or for the experienced ones, put you in contact with organised local shoots.
KIDS FUN Exmoor is surrounded by actives for the children.
