Situated within walking distance of the crashing waves of Carcavelos' beautiful beach and a little over half an hour from central Lisbon via the coastal commuter train, this contemporary apartment offers the best of surf and city. The interior might be a little on the beige side, but it's clean, uncluttered and unlikely to cause offence. Meanwhile, its two balconies provide private outdoor spaces for morning coffees and alfresco evening cuisine. However, if a holiday for you also means a break from the kitchen, there are plenty of authentic local restaurants a short stroll away.

*The apartment is located on the first floor with lift access, so it may be suitable for guests with more limited mobility

*There's no desk here, but the dining table doubles as a workspace if you need to catch up on some work during your stay

*The decor here is a little generic, though we're willing to look past that given the home's excellent location
