With a shop, petrol station and pub serving excellent food, the village is best known as the headquarters of the narrow gauge Bala Lake Railway, offering a nine mile scenic journey along the lakeside. The town of Bala is close by and is renowned as a centre for water sports such as fishing, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and whitewater rafting. Within the town itself, visitors can enjoy a range of interesting shops, inns, restaurants and an historical town walk, whilst the Berwyn mountain range offers great walking, cycling and other outdoor activities within easy reach.
