In the Brecon Beacons National Park, the historic market town of Hay-on-Wye is located by the River Wye, on the Welsh/English boundary. The town is a favourite of book lovers and tourists who want to take advantage of the Wye Valley's recreational opportunities and stunning landscape. It is known for hosting the internationally renowned Hay Festival of Books. The town is home to a large number of book stores, antique stores, restaurants, and cafes. It is also surrounded by stunning nature, which offers fantastic chances for walking, cycling, birdwatching, fishing, and canoeing. Explore the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains, The Three Castles Walk, Eastnor Castle, Offa's Dyke Way, Mortimer Trail, and the wonderful walk to Hergest Ridge, which served as an inspiration for both Elgar and Morricone's music, as well as the other numerous tourist attractions in the area.
