The lovely village of Heage, Derbyshire, is tucked between the towns of Ripley and Belper. Heage and Nether Heage are the two halves of this dispersed village, both of which include rustic homes and winding pathways but none of which has a centre. The word 'Heage' is Anglo-Saxon and means majestic or high, which is appropriate given the steep setting and lush vegetation.
