You can explore three local reservoirs and the High and Low Force waterfalls in Hamsterley Forest (10 miles). There are plenty of great places to eat and drink, and you could head to the charming market town of Barnard Castle (5.5 miles) with its host of boutique shops, cafes and pubs, as well as the Bowes Museum and the castle itself. Other attractions include Egglestone Hall (3 miles), Raby Castle (11 miles) and Auckland Castle (17.5 miles). The lovely town of Richmond (20.5 miles) is also nearby. On entering this outstanding property, you will find a dramatic and generous entrance hall with a feature chandelier and sweeping staircase.
