Area North Molton, an ancient community, is a great place to start exploring Exmoor and North Devon's spectacular shoreline. The village has a welcoming pub, Post Office, and a village shop selling home-grown fruit from nearby farms and exquisite home-baked items, while South Molton, a few miles away, has a variety of shops and a twice-weekly market. This charming community, which is conveniently located near both coastal and inland beauty sites, is guaranteed to appeal to guests of all tastes. Forests, moors, rivers, and beaches are all nearby, as are churches and other historical structures, and the Exmoor National Park's border is only a mile or two away. The South West Coast Path provides excellent walking opportunities, and the North Devon shoreline is varied and interesting. Watersmeet Gorge, Valley of the Rocks, and the funicular cliff train are all National Trust properties. Exmoor has a variety of treks for all levels, as well as beautiful locations to explore such as Tarr Steps, Landacre Bridge, and the delightful tiny settlement of Withypool. Further afield, the towns of Ilfracombe and Combe Martin are well worth a visit, and a day trip to Woolacombe and Saunton is not to be missed for some of the best beaches in the country.
Region Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
