Atop a hill on the island of Korčula, this modernist gem with its sharp edges and fuss-free spaces is all about indoor-outdoor living. A wall of glass not only frames views of the Adriatic Sea and mainland Croatia but gives way to an immaculate terrace, where you’ll find a chill-out space and two infinity pools. After swimming unhurried laps and tending to the sizzling barbecue, you’ll recline on the tufted sofa in the minimalist living space as your group’s appointed sommelier prepares a bottle of wine for tasting in the sleek open-plan kitchen. When it comes to the bedrooms there’s no short straw: all are spacious and have access to a balcony or the pool deck. Although, if we had to choose, we’d plump for the main bedroom for its spa-quality en-suite.

On warm afternoons, make a beeline for Banje Beach, a five-minute drive away, and relax on the pebbles. Stroll around Korčula town to soak up the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle before trying out the selection of snazzy restaurants. Should you want to explore a little further afield, the small municipality of Vela Luka on the western end of the island makes for an excellent day trip.
