Sandwiched between the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors, this cottage has adventures in the great outdoors written all over it. You'll find it in the quaint village of Helperby, just a fifteen-minute drive from Boroughbridge, thirty minutes from the Moors and an hour or so from the Dales. Don your walking shoes and set off for a local ramble through the Yorkshire countryside and rolling farmland – afterwards, rest your feet and reward yourself with a pint at one of the two local pubs back in the village.
When you're not out exploring this picturesque pocket of the country, while away your afternoons in the sun-kissed garden. Greet the day with a cup of coffee on the patio – come evening, swap your cuppa for a glass of wine as the sun goes down. You can even dine alfresco out here – pick up some locally sourced produce from the butcher's down the street and dig in.
Inside is as cosy as can be. Throw a log on the wood-burner and cuddle up with a good book, enjoy a relaxing soak in the bathtub after a long hike or rustle up some tasty baked goods in the stylish blue kitchen. We think it's a home perfect for families or groups of friends, especially those keen to unplug from the everyday bustle and unwind in nature.
Home truths: *Two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the ground-floor bedroom – although it can be used as a separate living space, this room has its own door and the sofa bed is permanently made up for guests
*This home is set across two floors, with the main bathroom located upstairs
*You'll need a car in this rural location – there's private parking on-site
*This home has a private entrance
*There's no washing machine here
*At full occupancy, there isn't enough seating in the living area or around the dining table – with that in mind, we think this is better suited to four
