Kilronan Cottages

From arrival to check-out our experience was wonderful.
Our room was ready on arrival, the receptionist gave us a tour and walked us to the lift. The room was a great size with a separate living area from the beds. Room had 3 single beds and two huge windows with views of the gardens and the castle interior. They also provided robes and slippers (with the Kilronan Castle logo) and Elemis toiletries.
We spent our afternoon in the spa - amazing therapists and the thermal suites were beautifully modern.
The hotel has kept its old castle charm in the furniture & decor but it was spotless clean.
The food was superb, particularly the breakfast.
The staff were just amazing, so friendly & nothing was too much trouble. Big shout out to Mihai who made our friends 40th perfect. He was so accommodating.
We're already planning a trip next year.

"Relaxing 2 night stay"
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Hotel is situated in a quiet rural area overlooking a small demense. Beautiful driveway leading up to the hotel.
Room was overlooking the main entrance, in the main part of the hotel. Room was adequate, comfortable bed, good standard ensuite bathroom.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, five star. Afternoon tea was superb, we had a 7 course tasting menu on the 2nd night and the food was absolutely superb, first class. Breakfast had great choice, freshly cooked again was just delicious. Beautiful spa and separate pool. Enjoyed both.
Lovely grounds to the hotel, good walks, plenty of parking.
Situated within driving to Drumshambo, Carrick on Shannon.

"Thoroughly enjoyed this girls trip here"
I visited Kilronan castle with my mum for one night and we absolutely loved it! The staff were so helpful and took every precaution with Covid and the walk routes around the grounds are lovely. Diana at check in was super helpful and friendly and a gave us a very warm welcome! I was a bit apprehensive about booking the tasting menu incase it wasn’t fresh but it really exceeded my expectations! At 58€ pp it was a worthwhile experience and very tasty indeed. Breakfast was delicious too and there was a wide range of food available to order to the table. The pool area is gorgeous and so relaxing! Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to other people.

"Super Staycation"
Myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights at this fabulous hotel. The food was brilliant, service could not be better and the atmosphere created as a result of the above was fantastic.

Great comfortable beds with good linen and large rooms. The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast staff were all so friendly and nothing was to much hassle.

We had the tasting menu and could not fault it. Something for everyone and again just very high quality of service and food. Special mention to Michael (Miguel) bar and restaurant manager. He is a credit to the hotel and made our stay truly one to remember for a long time with his stories and jokes.

The dungeon bar was fab and Thomas behind the bar was super friendly and even went out of his way to make a cocktail not on the menu for me. Great manner behind the bar.

We used the gym and pool and booking in advance meant we had the gym to ourselves which was a real treat. Pool was fab as expected.

We'll be back in the very near future with friends as we have spread the word about this absolute gem of a hotel. Not one to leave reviews but I honestly could not recommend this place enough for couples, families, friends, anyone.

During Covid times the staff at this hotel deserve a medal for the standard of service provided.

"Amazing, from start to finish!"
My Fiance arranged a surprise trip to Kilronan Castle for my birthday! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was perfect. Every member of staff we met was beyond polite and could not do enough for us. The food was delicious, particularly the tasting menu in the Douglas Hyde Restaurant!! It was absolutely gorgeous. The spa was stunning, Rachael took care of us and she couldn't do enough to make it special for us.we cannot thank Kilronan Castle any more for such a wonderful few days. The bedroom, the food, the atmosphere,the spa and every member of staff just made it so special. Such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere in the hotel.. highly recommend!!!
