Beautiful, quaint, fasinating old house
We arrived here out of the blue, not realising that the hotel does not really cater to random callers arriving looking for food mid day.
However we were made to feel very welcome by the very nice receptionist, who explained that they do evening dinner by reservation, and they also have guests staying. She generously offered to make us a cup of tea.
She kindly showed us in to a lovely sitting room with open fire burning brightly, and invited us to sit and relax.
She served delicious home made biscuits, and proper tea made with tea leaves in a silver tea pot! Tray, sugar bowl, jug and water pot were all beautiful silver!
The bar, dining room and other sitting room were all delightful.
Thank you for this lovely treat, for a VERY reasonable price, even though we were not expected to walk in unannounced!
