Property Overview

Barclay Farmhouse is a luxuriously extended 18th Century dwelling-house situated in the historic village of Biddenden in the heart of Kent.

It has been awarded the highest accolade for guest accommodation Five Stars with a Gold Award and a Bib Award from Michelin as well as a feature in the world renowned Alastair Sawday Guide - Special Places to Stay.

The Farmhouse is set in beautifully maintained gardens with a large pond and enjoys rural views to all aspects being set back 100 metres from the road with ample parking.

Centrally located, we are ideally placed for walkers and garden lovers being just a mile from Biddenden Vinyard and four miles from Sissinghurst Gardens the steam railway at Tenterden and Headcorn train station with its direct line to London.

Leeds Castle is a little further at 8 miles or alternatively enjoy a 15 minute stroll down the bridle path or public footpath from the Farmhouse to the village itself.

Bookings made within 48 hours of arrival will be followed up with a courtesy email so that we may plan your accommodation requirements. Wireless internet is available and we have Freeview LCD TVs in all rooms. There is disabled access to the ground floor room.

With regret due to the danger of the large deepwater pond at the front of the property we are unable to accommodate under 18's.

Our oak timber-framed bedrooms have king size or double beds solid oak flooring and furniture. They are simply but tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. There is a flat screen TV with digital Freeview radio CD player and a mini refrigerator with fresh milk and mineral water.

A variety of teas and coffees are provided and a selection of quality biscuits. Your ensuite shower-room with power shower has modern fittings maintained to the highest standard.

Barclay Farmhouse provides a retreat with stylish comfortable quiet and private accommodation set back 100 metres from the road.

Set in its own beautiful gardens with a wildlife pond the Farmhouse provides a great bolt-hole and getaway for a quiet few days relaxation contemplation or thought. It is an excellent base for exploring and enjoying all the local area has to offer.

Biddenden village is famous for its cobbled pavements beautiful old beamed houses renowned tea-room and the award winning vineyard. It has a sports club horse riding and other leisure pursuits.

The accommodation is within a short drive and is ideally placed for guests who have relatives or friends staying in the well known Benenden Hospital.
