Lovingly restored elegant 18th century, Italianate style, Irish manor set in 12 acres of woodland and landscaped gardens, overlooking the medieval Castle and Abbey of Kilcrea, in County Cork. The elegant interior is full of surprises. The kitchen is fully equipped for a comfortable and efficient self-catering stay, while the dining room is perfect for a candlelight dinner and/or family celebrations. All rooms were designed with at least one window facing south giving the house natural light, a bright atmosphere and of course beautiful views.
The main house features four bedrooms all with king-size or four-poster beds and large en-suite bathrooms, wonderful views and elegant Edwardian furniture. The explorer room, on the west, contains some memorabilia from the owners' African expeditions. Two of the rooms have an additional single bed and can sleep 3/4 people if needed. Also available for bigger groups are the Garden Rooms and the Butlers Apartment, connected to each other on the ground floor of the Main House. They are smaller than the rooms in the main house, but they are bright, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Access is through their own separate entrance.
The Butler's apartment includes a kitchenette and storage area.

"Elegant house" We stayed here in May for a family event. We had booked the entire house. The 4 ensuite rooms of the main house are all large and comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed with an casual dining table in the same room and a formal dining room in an adjoining room. There is also an outdoor dining area. The young adults were in rooms over the kitchen and some in the servants quarters under the main house. We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is well situated on the road to Killarney and within easy reach of Cork. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this house for groups

"Stellar Christmas" We rented the entire house over Christmas for a family group of 17. Have a good look at the photos on the website and then imagine the images to be even better in real life. That is how it is at West Cork House - bigger, lovelier, warmer. Thank you, The house is such a credit to you. Read less

"Irish Christmas" Loved, loved this lodging! Spent Christmas here, all 17 of us were beautifully accomodated. The owners are wonderful and warm hosts. Never intrusive, yet always available. A beautiful Christmas tree awaited us when we arrived. John was a hero rescuing a crow that was trapped in the fireplace of my bedroom. Patricia set a gorgeous Christmas table for our 'big' dinner. You will not be disappointed in any way.
