Enjoy an afternoon stroll through the grounds, collecting fresh eggs for breakfast, picking vegetables from the garden and taking the kids to meet the animals on the seasonal hobby farm. Come dinnertime, fire up the barbecue grill, open a bottle of wine and eat outside on the terrace. The views alone are worth staying for – Zakynthos town, the cliffs at Chrystal beach and the small island of Pelouz are all visible from the balcony – but the cosy living space, comfortable bedrooms and fully-stocked kitchen make staying here a breeze.

When you crave a seaside day, hop in the car and drive ten minutes to Laganas Beach or for a daytime excursion, rent a boat and visit the caves on Marathonisi Island. Lively Zante Town is only fifteen minutes by car if you're in the mood for nightclubs, gourmet eateries and sightseeing – although there are plenty of tavernas and beachfront restaurants nearby if you're not up for a drive.
