For a closer look at the duomo, you need only walk a couple of minutes to the bustling piazza that surrounds it. Wandering a little over 100m in the opposite direction will lead to the fascinating Leonardo da Vinci Museum, which is filled with life-sized machines based on his many sketches.

For more Renaissance creations, the iconic Uffizi Gallery lies around 700m to the south – well within walking distance. We'd recommend a leisurely riverside stroll along the River Arno afterwards, or if you're feeling active, head out on a stand-up paddleboarding expedition downriver.
