Luccombe Cottage, Luccombe: Somerset

Luccombe Cottage is a self-contained two bedroom property nestled at the foot of Dunkery, in the beautiful National Trust village of Luccombe. Situated in the heart of Exmoor National Park, yet also just 2 miles from the coast, the building was originally constructed to be the coach house for the next door Manor House. As such, it is set within the beautiful grounds of the Manor, which itself was the original rectory for the village’s 14th century church. Now converted into a pair of light, airy, well-equipped, and extremely comfortable holiday cottages (next door Horner Cottage sleeps 2 people), Luccombe Cottage is ideally suited to guests looking for a tranquil and picturesque getaway, and for walkers, cyclists, and nature lovers alike.

The kitchen is very well-equipped and includes a wide range of cooking utensils, pots and pans as well as crockery/cutlery/glassware.

Bed linen and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take them on day trips.

Heating and electricity is included. The cottage benefits from central heating throughout plus a 'electric wood-burner' in the sitting room.

Please note, the water supply comes from a local natural spring.

As with much of Exmoor, mobile phone reception in the cottage is very poor. However, if you turn ‘WiFi Calling’ on on your mobile you will be able to make/receive calls/texts over the cottage WiFi - you can often find this tab under Settings and then Phone, or alternatively contact your service provider and ask them to activate it.

Location
Luccombe nestling at the foot of Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor, in the Vale of Porlock. It's a wonderfully picturesque National Trust village with thatched cottages and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. Approximately 4 miles from Minehead and 2 miles from Porlock, Luccombe is an ideal spot for those looking for a quiet escape. Luccombe is sited approx 1.5 miles off the Minehead to Porlock road down a small country lane, which adds to its tranquility. The nearest shops and pubs are in Porlock, a couple of miles away.
