Lower Mill, located in Vellow, Somerset, offers luxurious holiday accommodation that can comfortably host up to 8 guests. This former mill boasts four double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite facilities. Situated on the outskirts of the Quantock Hills and Exmoor National Park, Lower Mill is also only 10 minutes away from the coast, making it an ideal location for anyone who enjoys exploring the great outdoors.

This property is nestled in a picturesque area of West Somerset that is still unspoilt, offering delightful views of the Quantock Hills (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). It also provides excellent access to both the Brendon Hills and Exmoor National Park, which are located to the west, and are popular with walkers and cyclists.

The accommodation sleeps up to 8 guests and includes four double bedrooms, three of which have super-king size beds, and one with a king-size bed. All four bedrooms have en-suite facilities. The master bedroom, situated on the second floor, provides stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

Lower Mill has a comfortable ground-floor sitting room with a wood-burning stove and a large inglenook. The well-equipped kitchen has gas-fired range ovens with six hobs. The property also features a private and enclosed gravelled patio with a table and chairs for outside dining.

Please note that pets are not allowed. Bed linen and towels are provided, and electricity and heating are included. Guests can arrive from 3 pm and must depart by 10 am.

Children are welcome at the property, but due to the water surrounding the property, they must be supervised at all times for safety reasons.

Facilities
Entrance to Lower Mill is directly into a hallway, which leads in to the modern kitchen-dining room. The kitchen is well-equipped with all new appliances, including a large range-style cooker, with two ovens and 6 hobs, ideal for catering for a large group. The American-style fridge-freezer with chilled water dispenser will ensure you have enough space for keeping your groceries. There is also a dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster.

The dining table can comfortably seat eight and patio doors lead out into the gravelled courtyard garden to the rear.

Through to the sitting room, there are comfortable sofas and chairs around the inglenook fireplace with wood-burner, a starter basket of logs will be provided in the cooler months (further supplies can be purchased locally).

Upstairs on the first floor are three double bedrooms, each with en-suites. On the second floor is the master bedroom, again with king-sized double bed and en-suite which includes a bath and shower, as well as a private seating area with sofa. Three of the bedrooms have super-king size beds and one has a king-size double bed.

Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The property is fitted with central heating which can be adjusted to suit your preferences and the seasons.

Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips.

There may be non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets/powder, and surface cleaner will be present in the property. Two toilet rolls will be provided per toilet plus hand wash.

Location
Vellow is a small hamlet, the larger village of Stogumber has a village pub and shop, along with parish church, and primary school, approx 2 miles away. Monksilver is just over 2 miles away, and own pub which also serves food, The Notley Arms.

The nearest town is Williton, which is also approx 2.5 miles away. There's a small supermarket in Williton, a petrol station, cash machines, local restaurants and a couple of take-away outlets, a hardware store, butchers, pharmacy, etc.

There is wonderful walking, cycle routes, horse riding in this area with the North Somerset Coastline to the north of the property. It's a unique beautiful location, close to the Quantock Hills, the first area to be awarded the national status of Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1956 and Quantock Common is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSI).

Exmoor can also be accessed by steam train on the West Somerset Railway, the longest Heritage railway in England, there are nearby stations at Stogumber and Washford, and the line runs between MInehead on coast (and the start of the South West Coast Path) and Bishops Lydeard

The Brendon Hills are close by with two reservoirs, Clatworthy and Wimbleball. This area is ideal for walking, fishing and water sports. The lovely towns of Dunster and Dulverton are about 30 minutes away.
