Croibh-Inis: Mayo

Practically on an island, Croibh Inis is a spectacular waterfront property situated on the sheltered side of a circa 120 acres land mass. There is, however, direct road access to a narrow stretch of land to Rosnakilly. This luxurious rental benefits from direct shore frontage complete with mooring buoy for those who wish to bring their boat. At high tide, the sea is no more than 4 metres from the front gate and 35 metres from the house itself.

The lush 12-acre site stretches back up behind the residence, rising to a hill with breathtaking views South to Murrisk and Croagh Patrick, West to the numerous islands of the Bay and Clare Island and North towards Newport and the spectacular Nephin mountains.

Accommodation:

The 3,200 sq ft, split level, architect designed house features four spacious bedrooms, three of which are en-suite, comfortably sleeping up to eight guests. The impressive lounge is extra spacious with a small bar, pool table, wood burning stove, surround sofas and direct access to a balcony area looking out over the sea, Clew Bay islands and Croagh Patrick. The contemporary kitchen, utility and breakfast room are stylish with all mod cons.

The dining room seats ten guests and enjoys access to a large patio with sea views. When not in use for dining, the room can be utilised as a study and contains a large antique walnut cabinet with an extensive range of books. On the upper landing level, an office with direct internet access includes a partner’s desk and comfortable swivel chair.

Other features include WiFi internet access, satellite TV, DVD, zoned heating, heat recovery/ ventilation, and alarm. All windows are triple glazed, and outside walls are doubly insulated to add to the comfort and reduce energy costs. The large apex windows (X3) allow substantial solar gain.

The kitchen/Utility contains double oven with grill, built in microwave with warming drawer, dishwasher, induction hobs x 2, larder fridge, under the counter freezer, condenser dryer and washing machine.

Small garage with bathroom and shower.

We have just returned from this beautiful property after spending a glorious week with family and friends. The house has everything you could ask for, there was nothing that wasn't provided, including some essentials which meant we wouldn't need to rush out to the supermarket after a long drive with tetchy kids! The surrounding area, including the land that the house is built on is just breathtaking, we enjoyed a couple of treks up over the hill and onto the pebble beach and strolling back round the Island towards the house, with little ones in tow, this took us a good couple of hours (with all the pottering, looking for shells and throwing stones into the sea that has to be done!) I'm sure with just adults it would maybe only take an hour! The house is a luxurious base to explore the area from, we only spent one full day here without visiting elsewhere (the day we explored the pebble beach) but I'm sure if you were here without kids there would be nothing nicer than lying about, reading the papers with the roaring fire lit. Raymond and Anne couldn't have been more helpful, at the end of a phone if we needed advice and we received a couple of texts seeing how things were going and if we needed anything. It has shown to us that you definitely get what you pay for - this is most certainly 5 star accommodation, we have stayed in other properties in this area and other nearby areas that we wouldn't return to but we would have no hesitation in recommending the house to anyone and are even hoping to return ourselves in the not too distant future!

This was the first time the family had ventured to Mayo, and what a treat it was. The property was first class, the owners, Raymond & Anne so considerate and helpful for the duration. The scenery around was amazing, just like photos used on postcards, whilst our party did not attempt to climb Croagh Patrick, it's awesome presence dominated the view. Westport as a town had so much to offer, and plenty of boat rips and walking places. Excellent vacation Excellent holiday home

Stayed here for a week with my partner. We were blown away with the house, so much to do in the West of Ireland but we barely wanted to leave the house as it was so comfortable and luxurious. There was only 2 of us and it felt really cozy but the house has 4 high quality bedrooms and so much living space and a large kitchen/dining area that it would be ideal for larger groups too. Could not believe the beauty of the location and the beauty of the house to match it. Waking up to the view of the sea so close every morning was a dream. It is only 10 minutes drive from Westport and it was so scenic and peaceful where the house is located it was perfect. There is so much to do in the area around Westport and to have this house as a base was a pleasure. The pictures do not do this house justice and I would definitely recommend it to anyone to stay here.

An amazing house, location & holiday, swims in the bay, the greenway, such easy access to everything but you’re still away from it all. We love the house & location and will be back” A
