For fine dining, there are three Michelin Star restaurants close by; L enclume and Rogan & Co. lie in the village of Cartmel, only 5 miles away, Heft is close by in the village of Newton in Cartmel (5 miles), whilst The Gilpin Inn is a little further afield towards Windermere and Kendal 16 miles. Entering this grand manor house, you are welcomed into the great hall, itself a thoughtful space with dog pack artwork and a crackling open fire to welcome you. Heading through this building, you are immediately welcomed into the grand lounge, with plenty of sumptuous seating. Head to the bar next door; with wooden panelling and rich leather furniture, this room offers a great space to relax and enjoy a fine wine or whisky. Why not wind down your evenings in the snug with a good book and roaring fire, a cosy space, perfect to enjoy separately from the group. For entertainment, you have option. Enjoy movie night in the high spec cinema room or head to the games room, where there is a vintage pinball machine and karaoke. If you fancy exercising your taste buds, why not treat yourself to cheese tasting whilst admiring the 1,000 bottle wine cellar? For the chefs of the group, there are not one but two kitchens; from a full blown commercial kitchen to a more traditional yet luxurious space with Miele appliances, two steam ovens, a microwave, oven, full size Aga, and Sub Zero wine fridge and freezer. If you don t feel like cooking, the in house team have some excellent recommendations for caterers. Enjoy your dinner in style in the grand dining room, a magnificent space to celebrate those special occasions. If you are entertaining clients, this room is easily converted into a conference space. The bedrooms are no exception to the extravagant luxury that flows through this house, with rich velvets and bold metallic accents and wallpapers from Zoffany and Mulberry, each room is inspired by the many 5 star hotels the owners have experienced. The Beverly Hills room boasts a super king size four poster bed and 65" TV, the en suite bathroom offering a free standing Villeroy and Boch bath and walk in shower. The Peninsula and St Regis rooms are also super king size with 55" wall TVs; The Peninsula with a separate bath and shower and St Regis with a walk in shower. The Colony Hotel is a double room with a shower and The Betsy room, offering gorgeous views across the grounds of the property, is a super king size with a shower. Naples, La Residencia and Claridges are all luxurious rooms offering super king size beds with a separate bath and walk in shower. Sandy Lane is a self contained flat located on the ground floor, with separate access and provides a super king size bed, large seating area, 55" TV and an en suite shower room with a large walk in shower. Sandy Lane is ideal for any members of your party with mobility issues. To locate the tenth bedroom, you will need to take a stroll along the drive and step into the summer house. Once inside, you will be greeted with an open plan kitchen/living room and completing the ground floor is the shower room with walk in shower and WC. Upstairs, you are welcomed into a king size bedroom with a curved free standing bath in the bedroom itself. The grounds are something else to behold! Soak up the sun in the orangery, with multiple spaces to dine alfresco, or why not head over to the front terrace where you can gaze across the manicured gardens? If a special occasion is on the cards, you can make use of the pergola and dance the night away. For a bit of peace and quiet, tucked away towards the trees you can relax in the pod, with its own Smart TV, heater, Wi Fi and magnificent views of the local countryside.
