Area
In the middle of Poldark Country, the setting for Winston Graham's novels set in the 1930s, sits Perranporth, a stunning Cornish seaside town. Winston Graham resided in Perranporth at the time. In addition to a typical bucket-and-spade beach that is lifeguarded in the summer and is surrounded by rugged cliffs and a lovely coastal path, Perranporth has a tonne of traditional pubs and stores. The village still has abandoned pump structures, mine shafts, and workers' cottages as memories of its glorious past as the producer of the finest tin. To learn more about the unique history of this coastal region, you should definitely pay a visit to the Blue Hills Museum and Perranzabuloe Folk Museum in the vicinity. The National Trust owns a large portion of the stunning coastal footpaths near St. Agnes as well as the kilometres of sand beaches at Crantock and Holywell Bay. A wonderful base for a getaway in Cornwall, with a wide range of activities.
