We have just been here for a 2 night break celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. This is a beautiful hotel with very friendly and polite staff. It's a little off the beaten track but not hard to find and really worth the trip. Our room was spacious and spotless with the added bonus of a fridge and air con. The beds were comfortable with the only exception being uncomfortable pillows!
Breakfast is buffet style and was plentiful and delicious. Dinner was really nice. I had salmon and my husband had beef. Both were delicious. The only let down in the meal was my cheeseboard. There was a 5 euro supplement for this which I didn't mind paying had it been worth it but it wasn't. The cheeses consisted of a blue, a chedder, a smoked cheddar and a brie. All of which had come straight out of the fridge so they were all very cold and hard as a result and the only one that had any flavour was the blue. I complained to the restaurant manager and she was most apologetic and took this off the bill. She also said she'd speak to the kitchen. To my mind any chef should know that cheese is not served straight from the fridge. Anyway, that one little quibble aside we had a lovely anniversary and would not hesitate to return to this fab hotel.
