Our cottage was way above our expectations, it was absolutely superb, we didn't want to come home.. The attention to detail in the cottage was excellent and the welcome pack was a lovely surprise.
We will definitely be going again soon as we can

The cottage was lovely and clean.. It is very well equipped making a self catering holiday with children very enjoyable. The location is peaceful and quiet, however it is a short drive to some fabulous beaches and the coastal path. We were even lucky enough to see dolphins.

Lovely little free gifts (local treats) and fresh eggs from the farm to greet you on arrival.. Hot tub in February was great and easy to use. Bed was super king size and really comfortable, plush linen and Pillows. Very dog friendly. Try the Nags head and the daffodil Inn both great pubs serving delicious food again both except dogs.

This is our second visit here. Again, wonderful cottage with amazing hosts. Joy and Rod can't do enough for you. The cottage is clean and tidy. Well stocked for anything you want to cook. We will be coming back. If you like home comforts such as hairdryer, coffee filter, cafeteria then this is all covered here.

Please note: When you go out, you will need cash to pay for parking. Whereas we are use to paying on apps etc. Was a bit of a shock when we got somewhere and had no cash on us.

Stayed here for my husbands 60th birthday All I can say is excellent in every way. Joy and Roy were so welcoming and pleasant. They even decorated the house and baked him a birthday cake. Hot tub was excellent. Fab place for dogs. Would definitely recommend this place and certainly will be returning

We keep coming back to this lovely cottage and are never disappointed. The owners, Rod and Joy, are so friendly, ensuring that everything is perfect. There is always a lovely welcome gift and this time was no exception with a stunning Christmas hamper for us to enjoy. The cottage itself is beautifully presented with all the mod-cons. The log burner ensures the evenings are cosy (not that it's ever been cold) and the hot-tub provides the perfect end to any day.
The surrounding area is beautiful with lots of walks, especially on the beaches. Poppit Sands and Mwnt are our favourites (and the dogs love them too!).
We can't recommend this cottage enough. We will definitely be revisiting soon.

Rod and Joy have thought of everything to make sure that your stay is comfortable.. There is everything that you need there. Privacy is given for when you are in the hot tub which is rare to find. The cottage is amazing and clean. I would highly highly recommend this property to stay if you want a relaxing get away!

Thankyou so much!
Emma.

From the outset Joy, our hostess, was welcoming and helpful.. The cottage is well equipped and spotlessly clean. Enclosed area was ideal for our dog. The hot tub was a pleasant extra which received quite some use.

We stayed here for a long weekend. Had an amazing time. The cottage is stunning and has everything you can think off. You literally just turn up with clothes and food. Everything else is there including robes, bath towels, tea towels and all the clean equipment. My little boy loved the games, jigsaw puzzles and colouring.

We have already booked for our summer holiday next year.

Just had our second holiday in this delightful luxury cottage. Still a perfect escape from the real world with internet just incase you need to keep in contact. Sitting in the hot tub whilst it was snowing was a great experience. clean and very well maintained this cottage is warm and you don't really need the fire but for effect. Thank you Joy and Rod for creating this great cottage.

Myself and my partner Caroline stayed here for a week in November. Both Rod and Joy made us welcome from the start. The accommodation was superb clean and woderfully decorated. Although on a working farm that did not disturb the peace and relaxation we enjoyed whilst we were there. Even though we had to cut short our holiday due to unforseen circumstances both Rod and Joy were very understanding and couldn't do enough for us a truly wonderful couple and I thank them both immensely.

I believe my title says it all.. Having come back to Yr Hen Llaethdy five times in four years we clearly love this slice of Welsh heaven.
Joy and Rod are extremely welcoming, the little personal touches to the cottage make the stay.
The gift bag of sweets, jams and little presents for our children was perfect.
We had a Chinese from the Super Garden in town, which was amazing and a must have.
We visited Pen Y Bryn beach twice and highly recommend it.
We will most definitely be returning.
Massive thumbs up to Joy and Rod for all their hard work they put in to make Yr Hen Llaethdy a home from home.

Lovely cottage.. Everything provided and more. Hot tub was great fun and relaxing after a day out and about. Plenty of towels plus robes and slippers for hot tub. Owners so friendly and accommodating-left a welcome parcel and milk and water in the fridge. Really spacious and modern. Plus you are on a working farm so plenty off animals about including kittens and ducks and shire horses next door. Really quiet just the sound of sheep and birds. Definitely recommend.

Great place to stay - Rod and Joy are fantastic hosts, welcome pack was a nice treat on arrival and Easter eggs and toys for the children we also well received.. The hot tub, 3d TV were a welcome treat and table football was a real winner with the childen (8 & 14). working farm so plenty of cows, calves, donkey;s and cats.

Great location but you do need to drive to get to places but nothing is really too far away.

What a beautiful cottage! We felt spoilt the moment we stepped through the door. Joy and Rod had left a beautiful Christmas hamper and presents for our children. April 2017
Amazing well equipped comfortable cottage with hot tub, private garden and log fire. Situated on a farm with animals next door and across the drive kids will love this place as well as parents. The private garden with hot tub and seating undercover (lots of knee rugs for cooler evening) provides a great space to relax and eat in all weathers. The cottage has good underfloor heating with thermostats in each room for comfort. A large bathroom with whirlpool bath and large double shower cubicle. I suggest you will return from this holiday feeling your kitchen is just not up to scratch as there is every gadget and gizmo imaginable.
Joy and Rod provide a welcome pack which exceeds all expectations (I am now addicted to Tregroes chocolate waffle biscuits.). The furnishings and comfort of this cottage is well above average and nothing is too much trouble for the owners.

My husband and i would describe this cottage as rare and exquisite like Welsh Gold.

March 2017
Our second stay in less than 12 months and I'm so glad we gave in to the pressure from our 2 boys! Joy and Rod are the most wonderful, considerate hosts; lovely welcome hamper again and nice touches like Yankee candles in the lounge and robes for nipping to and from the hot tub. The cottage is beautifully appointed and warm, even without lighting the fire. Very comfy beds and good quality linens. We love sitting and eating outdoors, even in the winter, so the chiminea and fire pit were well used and obviously the hot tub is just heaven on earth.
The surrounding area is beautiful, particularly the stunning coastline and you can get everything you need in Newcastle Emlyn, less than 10 minutes away.
We will definitely be back again at some point in the future.

August 2016
From the very first moment we stepped inside this holiday cottage to the very last second we left we loved it so much. The property is beautifully furnished with every need catered for. The cottage is on a working farm so you can see donkeys and cows but when you are in the cottage you forget about all of this. The hot tub is a lovely extra and a nice way to relax after exploring the many seaside towns and secluded beaches and coves. We enjoyed the area so much we intend to go back next year.
Would I re commend this property? Yes. 100%. A great cottage and location for a wonderful family holiday.
Miss Storey
June 2016
The owners were there to welcome us which after a long journey was great. The cottage had all we needed. The location was perfect to go explore other towns and areas with a good time to get back. We loved that once the babies were asleep we could go outside and have a sheltered seated area to chat and relax. An overall wonderful first family holiday. We would definitely go back again and recommend others to stay!

May 2016
Although this is a 5 star holiday we feel it should be given more. Joy and Rod are two of the nicest people you could meet. The accommodation was faultless. The hot tub was super and so relaxing. We will definitely be going back next year.

April 2016
The owners were such welcoming hosts and were brilliant with our boys and allowed them to enjoy the farm and the animals. April 2016
My husband was really keen to book this cottage but I was a little reluctant because I didn't feel it would be right for our boys. I couldn't have been more wrong. Joy and Rod are brilliant hosts, providing a very generous welcome pack. The cottage is beautifully appointed; very comfortable beds, nice bed linen and towels, a very well equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom and the hot tub and 3D TV are great extras. The area has some stunning beaches and good value days out for families.
The boys (7&9) loved the farm and Rod was good with them, allowing them to feed the animals. We've already checked to see if we could go back for our summer holiday but the cottage is booked. We will definitely be back though!

February 2016
We have just returned from a week at Yr Hen Llaethdy. We were greeted by the owners who were very welcoming. The cottage is extremely well appointed and we found it to be the perfect base for exploring all west Wales has to offer. After days out we found the cottage very comfortable and relaxing, the hot tub being a great feature. Will defiantly return.
Mrs Burton
February 2016
The standard of facilities was extremely good you can actually turn up with a few clothes in a bag as the owners have thought of every eventuality. Location was good plenty to do within a few mile radius or plenty to do in the cottage with board games, DVD and 3D TV provided.
Mr Faulks
January 2016
The property was exceptional and the location lovely and secluded. I love cooking, so was ecstatic to see the kitchen was full of bowls, knifes, whisks etc.

January 2016
Fantastic holiday! Yr Hen Llaethdy was spotless and had everything we could possibly need. The owner had thought of everything and the little extra touches made the stay even more enjoyable. The hot tub was a lovely added luxury after a day's walking. The photos do not do the cottage justice- it's much bigger in real life and is decorated to an extremely high standard. Can't wait to visit again!
Mrs Charlton
November 2015
This cottage was beautiful! We could not have felt more welcome by the owners and the whole cottage was finished to such a high standard, it felt like being in a luxury hotel. The hot tub was amazing and our six year old loved going on the swing everyday. Would highly recommend to anyone to visit this beautiful place.
Mr Walker
November 2015
What can we say about the cottage - it was warm, homely and spotlessly clean. It was the best equipped we have ever stayed in with a fantastic kitchen and bathroom. The laundry room was very useful as the weather was wet for the whole week. It didn't stop us enjoying the wonderful coastline though and the hot tub was a great place to enjoy a drink in the evening. All in all a fantastic place to stay, we would thoroughly recommend it.
Mr Chambers
September 2015
Liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, the cottage, which was everything we hoped it would be, and the beauty of Wales. The fact that the cottage is dog friendly and so many of the pubs and cafes are also dog friendly.
Mrs Woods
August 2015
The hosts were welcoming and thoughtful, and the holiday cottage was quiet and relaxing, just what we needed.

August 2015
This is the second time we have been to Yr Hen Llaethdy and loved it both times. Situated adjacent to the owners' farmhouse it remains private, with help to hand if needed (not that we did), and a very warm welcome from the outset. There is no expense spared in the furnishings or comfort with everything we needed to hand. The hot tub is a favourite, and the canopy means that meals outside are lovely even when its a bit chilly or damp. This suits us because we like to be a little remote but not too far from local amenities and attractions.
Mrs Robinson
July 2015
The attention to detail, the excellent hosts, the feel good factor of the solar roof cells, not having to think about anything because everything was there and the privacy.

June 2015
In terms of value for money this property was absolutely great. Accept this property as part of a working farm and the quality is very hard to beat. The owners were helpful and friendly. It is very well equipped, comfortable and well placed to explore this part of Wales. Simply loved it!
Ms Harvey
June 2015
A relaxing environment around nature and the animals, within easy commuting distance to beaches - at New Quay beach we saw Dolphins several times on different days. The standard of accommodation was excellent with attention to detail, magazines, hot tub, 3D TV, shower, and fantastic bath and bed. Very comfortable, a home from home!
Mrs Khan
April 2015
The accommodation is stunning - beautifully furnished and a lovely finish. The picture of the outside of the property makes it appear quite small but it is deceptively large when you go inside. The whole family loved the hot tub which we made use of every day! The owners were very helpful and were happy to show our children the farm animals. Would definitely recommend this property for a lovely holiday.
Mrs Favager
March 2015
The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming and really contributed to a fantastic week away. The cottage is furnished to the highest standards and the welcome pack that was left was wonderful and very thoughtful. We cannot recommend this cottage enough and really hope to return very soon!

January 2015
We decided on this barn as our honeymoon. It was perfect. The barn, the surroundings, the garden..... Everything!!! We took our little pug Colin and the garden was perfect for him. It is fully enclosed so he could wander around. Although it is a working farm you do not get disturbed. I have seen some negative comments about the wifi. We didn't even try it as we were on holiday and had no need for it. Joy and rod were always there when needed but didn't intrude. I would highly recommend this holiday let to anyone. And one last thing... Buy the eggs!
Mr Bray

September 2014
We stayed at this beautiful barn conversion mid- August, with two children aged 8 & 16 so it's not easy finding somewhere they will both like.
The location is very remote but this only adds to the feeling you away from it all.Surrounded by cattle, donkeys and other farm animals it's a brilliant location for people who enjoy wildlife and love being outside.
The barn itself is stunning, no expense is spared the kids loved jumping in the hot tub in the evening then playing on the swing in the lovely courtyard while I cooked our evening meal in the massive kitchen.
The bedrooms are spotless and extremely comfortable. There is a utility room great for muddy wellies and washing clothes. The main lounge is lovely with a 3D TV and a wood burning stove which was gorgeous crackling away at night.
As for things to do there's loads, newcastle emlyn itself is so pretty with lovely tea rooms and gift shops. New Quay is about 30 mins away a lovely seaside town with dolphin spotting boat trips. Folly Farm is around 50 mins away but a fantastic day out for kids and adults alike.
The owners were so kind leaving my daughters a goody bag filled with biscuits, chocolate, sweets and jam which they were thrilled with.
We cannot wait to return it was so relaxing and stress free.

August 2014
We had a great week in this cottage, lovely cozy cottage done up to a very high standard, we really couldnt fault it. The only thing that let it down for us was that it was too remote, we couldnt walk anywhere, ie a pub or the next village, you have to get in the car, albeit not a very long drive away. Owners lovely and didnt interfere, but always on hand should you require anything. As this cottage is set on a working farm, its a great way to get first hand experience of how a farm is run and we were lucky enough to meet a new born foul that was 12 hours old. They welcome you to wander all round the farm to say hello to all the animals .

August 2014
Yr Hen Llaethdy was superb, finished to a high standard and spotlessly clean. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners who are on hand if you need them, the hot tub is excellent as-well!

We stay in a lot of cottages, and the owners have obviously given careful consideration to the comfort of their guests. This is a beautifully furnished, well-maintained and well-equipped cottage with nothing to want for. Thank you for a fantastic week.

May 2014
This was our first family holiday in the UK and wow it was great. From the minute we stepped into the barn we knew we would have a good week. I am a bit "fussy" when it comes to properties and cleanliness etc but I needn't have worried, it was the cleanest and most luxurious property we have stayed in in a long time. We loved the hot tub, 3d television and the massive shower to name but a few. The kitchen was enormous and had everything you'd ever need to practice your culinary skills. It was reassuring to have an enclosed garden as with small children it can be a worry about them wandering off into the farm. We all loved saying hello to the animals daily and Rod (property owner) was even kind enough to show us around the farm and take us on a short ride to his nearby field to see his sheep and lambs! Although it is a working farm once the doors are closed the house is sound proof so the kids and us slept very well in the huge beds. There is plenty to do in the local area from stunning beaches with seals to theme parks, castles etc. the list is endless! Wifi in the property is a little hit and miss but what do you expect in the middle of the country, we were there to holiday after all and if we wanted to spend all day in he internet we'd have stayed at home. Thanks to Rod and Joy for making us feel so at home. I'm sure we'll be back!

The cottage was modern and very spacious. The hot tub in the private courtyard was an added bonus. The owners had thought of everything, even down to their quirky ornaments. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, definitely looking to go back there, perfect retreat.

February 2014
I booked Yr Hen Llaethdy as part of my wife's 30th birthday surprise and we loved it! The pictures don't really do it justice as the cottage is stunning; the owners have done an amazing job of making it cosy, yet modern with a green twist. Highlight was the hot tub, hidden in the corner of the garden, perfect for a romantic bath with bubbles, lights off and the LED's on. During the day we had a walk around the farm and met some of the animals, the donkeys were the best! Would we come here again? Oh yes!
Miss Cook

November 2013
Me and my partner will be searching for a place of our own soon, and this cottage really inspired us, in many different ways! From the underfloor heating, the ground source heat pump, to the fantastically kitted out kitchen, the fantastic log burner, the animals, the scenery, the excellent bathroom, I could go on and on! If only something like this could be bought or rented! Cannot offer high enough praise, really impressed, and will definitely return in years to come!

When you first view this property nothing really stands out, but when you entae then practically everything stands out. It has been veryu well thought out and no expence has been spared, but that does not mean that it is not cosy and hoely and even though we have a dog we did not feel that the dog shopuld not have been there. The owners were very friendly and did everything in their [powers to make our stay a pleasant one. plenty of places to visit in relatively close proximity but very nice to come back to the peace and quiet of the farm

Fantastic holiday cottage which completely exceeded our expectations. Superb facilities and exceptionally clean! The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Our children loved seeing the animals around the farm. Super quiet location within 20 minutes of beautiful beaches. We cannot wait to go back!

July 2013
Having had self catering holidays for many, many years this was probably the best property we have stayed in or certainly in the top two or three. The owners were a delightful couple and had put a lot of thought into making the property like a home-from-home. The surrounding area was stunning in its beauty and one week was certainly insufficient to explore it all.

This cottage was beautiful and one had the feelimg that no expense had been spared in equipping it. The setting is lovely and ' farmy' and the owners very helpful and thoughtful. Altogether an excellent experience!

The cottage was amazing and surpassed our expectations. South Wales was beautiful, the beaches fantastic and we even saw dolphins swimming in the sea. We will definitely go back.

The town where the cottage was situated was really good and had some lovely shops. The countryside was beautiful. The people who owned the cottage were very nice and nothing was too much trouble for them.

My 18 year old daughter is studying for A levels and we picked this cottage as it was the only one we found with WIFI. It doesn't have it. Excuses didn't help, there is no wifi. Left early with no refund as owners didn't care.
