Where Eagles Soar: Corsica

This lovely stone villa sits off the tourist trail in the northwestern Balagne region of the island. Known for its spectacular scenery and hilltop communes, you'll find this particular home just outside the authentic Corsican village of Feliceto.

Step inside this welcoming home, and you'll uncover a light and spacious open living room and kitchen, with several French doors offering direct access to the outdoor terrace. From here, you can lay out by the pool and enjoy the lush green landscapes, with olive trees that run from the village all the way to the Renucci and Maestracci vineyards.

Feliceto is nestled in the foothills of the Montegrosso Massif and surrounded by sky-high peaks that reach close to 2,000m. The village gets its name from the river, where you'll find locals of all ages frolicking in the water over the summer months. Elsewhere, you can also experience local life at the 'ghjardinettu', the village square where you'll find people simply watching the world go by. Slightly further afield, head half an hour west to the coast at Calvi, the island's capital of culture, or visit the wild and beautiful Agriates Desert, forty minutes north of the villa.
