West Cork Country House: Cork

This delightful restored country house has five bedrooms, 2 en-suite, and sleeps 8 guests.

Situated 5Km from Skibbereen and 2Km from Ballydehob in the Roaring Water Bay area of West Cork - a stones through from Jeremy Iron's legendary Kilcoe Castle. It is surrounded by several acres of well manicured gardens, and boasts a large patio area with stunning views overlooking roaring water bay.

On the same grounds is a really quaint thatched cottage that sleeps 4 guests.
Both the house and cottage can be rented together to sleep 14 guests, or rented individually.
The last picture in the gallery is that of the Thatched Cottage.

A lovely spot. Some days we drove around the area swimming and touring. other days and evenings we walked the local area and had family evenings in. we had a lovely time.

Brilliant location, giving access to Baltimore and the islands, Bantry Bay and the Mizenhead and Sheep's Head peninsulas. Wonderful birdsong throughout our visit and marvellously peaceful location. You can head out on local walks from the front door. The waterfront is only a couple of minutes away. For supermarket, local shops and eateries, we preferred Schull over Ballydehob and Skibberreen. Try to get to the signal station at Mizenhead and don't miss the lagoon and beach at Barleycove with the memorable floating walkway and cuckoos near the carpark. Maud's father was very welcoming and had mown some paths through the meadow so that we could enjoy sitting on the different terraces. Very good value for money. As keen cooks, we found the kitchen a little cramped and understocked. But that's a quibble - the place is otherwise wonderful.

Great house in a beautiful area! Lovely bedrooms and two great lounges for relaxing in after a busy day. Would definitely visit again!!!

Beautiful home on a scenic and secluded road. Books everywhere, plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms which suited our family of six. Maud, her brother and father were all responsive and hospitable. Would definitely stay here again!

This is a large and fully kitted out cottage-style house with a significant modern extension. Its easy to find, has Skib and Ballydehob nearby, and very close to the sea. You won't hear many cars. The beds are comfy and warm. We stayed with a big group so were cooking every night, and made use of the freezer to hamdle our food! Can highly recommend, will stay again.
