Brilliant location, giving access to Baltimore and the islands, Bantry Bay and the Mizenhead and Sheep's Head peninsulas. Wonderful birdsong throughout our visit and marvellously peaceful location. You can head out on local walks from the front door. The waterfront is only a couple of minutes away. For supermarket, local shops and eateries, we preferred Schull over Ballydehob and Skibberreen. Try to get to the signal station at Mizenhead and don't miss the lagoon and beach at Barleycove with the memorable floating walkway and cuckoos near the carpark. Maud's father was very welcoming and had mown some paths through the meadow so that we could enjoy sitting on the different terraces. Very good value for money. As keen cooks, we found the kitchen a little cramped and understocked. But that's a quibble - the place is otherwise wonderful.
