It has achieved a ‘Fields of Opportunity’ award for ‘Best Converted Barn Holiday Let’. Located in a small secluded valley that has been farmed by the same family for generations, the property derives its name from a popular first name within the family over that time, including the present one. With an air of timelessness and the unspoilt nature of this small Cotswold hamlet, it is hard to believe that it lies just 6 miles from the centre of Cheltenham. The town boasts a state-of-the-art cinema complex, two renowned theatres, public gardens, a famous race course - site of the Gold Cup in March - and a wealth of restaurants, specialist food shops and excellent shopping in general. Cheltenham is a superb base from which to explore the full breadth of the Cotswold countryside, its villages, historic houses and internationally famous gardens such as Kiftsgate and Hidcote Manor. With excellent walking opportunities, three excellent golf courses within a few minutes’ drive and the chance to visit the many picturesque villages of the locality, including Bourton-on-the-Water, Lower Slaughter, Stow-on-the-Wold, and the many old inns that abound within an easy drive, this is an ideal spot for a country holiday with a difference. Excellent barn especially the kitchen/dining room which is a very sociable area. Lovely comfy beds. Not having to queue up for the showers is icing on the cake. The surrounding area is beautiful. Clive the owner is helpful but he did not intrude on us during our stay which is important. Will definitely return if our group doesn’t grow! Well done Clive to get it right.

Very difficult to find fault. Clive and Lydia most helpful and the welcome tray of goodies was a lovely touch.

The barn was spacious and had everything we needed and family loved the location. The grandchildren helped the owner who was digging a trench in the field, which they loved and by the end of the week were happy to feed the horse and watch the cows, something they weren’t used to in London - one comment why can’t we live in a place like this sums it up superbly I think.

The perfect surroundings in which to celebrate our Ruby Wedding. We loved the flowers, bread, jam, eggs, milk and chocolates left by the owners. Younger (and older) members of the family greatly enjoyed the barn with the trampoline, table tennis and billiard table.

Everything about Tom’s Barn was excellent. The whole family really enjoyed our stay especially as every couple had their own bathroom. There is plenty to do in this area and our week went so quickly. If you are after a quiet and relaxing time with friends or family, Tom’s Barn is the place to stay.

Tom’s Barn is everything you could wish for, a quiet countryside position, excellent accommodation, bags of space for a large group holidaying together, gorgeous bedrooms and bathrooms and a huge kitchen for entertaining. This property would suit families holidaying together or groups of friends/relatives looking for a base for country walks and touring the beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswold.

It was fantastic - plenty of space to live in and to have a bathroom for each bedroom was brilliant. The only problem we had was the master bedroom radiators didn’t work - but we told the owner when we left it wasn’t a great problem.

This is one of the best properties we have used. Everything is just so well looked after. The owner is on site but not intrusive - just helpful if needed and a real gent!
