Everything was perfect. Surroundings were lovely. June was very welcoming and helpful. The house was spotlessly clean and well laid out, no complaints

"Superb quiet tranquil and beautiful converted barn in amazing location"
Very impressive converted barn with real character and beautiful history. Beds are super comfy and design and finish is outstanding. Would love to stay again.. located only minutes from Blessington, Tallaght and Citywest. Nearby are beautiful gardens, walks and lakes. On site is a fab cafe. Tranquil setting is so peaceful

"A gardener's paradise"
Despite its unprepossessing name the Turkey House is quite amazing. An ultra modern renovation of part of an old farm building, the Turkey House is an ideal space for up to 5 people. My wife and I enjoyed the space and the comfort, even if at times we were rattling around a bit.

The reason for picking the Turkey House for our stay in Blessington was, of course, June Blake and her wonderful garden, and we could not have been made more welcome by both June and her son Dara.

When not taking advantage of unrestricted access to the garden the location was great for visits to several other gardens in the area, and after a day traveling the well equipped kitchen at the Turkey House meant we could whip up an easy supper, while relaxing with as much wine as we wanted!

Great alternative to hotel rooms in a rural setting

Location suited with access to wonderful countryside (even in winter) and also a 20 min drive to family in Dublin south suburbs.

Turkey House was an interesting conversion which combined the feel of a traditional country cottage with a modern interior. Staying there was a nice change from anonymous rooms in hotels which we also considered for our stay in Ireland.

Great heating allayed our worst fear - that we would be cold in an Irish winter. We were probably too warm at times.

Dara and June were wonderful hosts, very helpful.

Good wifi/internet prevented any mutiny by our kids.

We did find it a bit dark - lighting was not up to the job in dark winter days. Summer would not be a problem. Some care was also required on stone spiral staircase.

All in all, a great location to consider, especially when the gardens are in full bloom.

we had a fantastic time on our recent break in wicklow. The turkey house provided a perfect base to explore county wicklow although you would be forgiven to stay put in the beautiful surrounding of the turkey house.June's garden provides the perfect back drop to the modern architecture of the turkey house. we were made feel very welcome and felt that if there was anything we needed help with(from directions to stair gates! ! ) all we had to do was ask. Dara and June were always just a shout away but yet we felt that they never imposed. we would love to return at some stage to check out the new tea rooms and Eoghan (aged 9) has already informed us that we should stay in the cow house on our next visit so he can decide his favourite.

"Beautiful and relaxing setting"
June and her family were wonderful to rent this vacation rental (holiday house if you are from across the Pond) Very easy to rent and they were a joy to deal with. They really went above and beyond. The only downside is on my part, I wish I would have arranged more time to spend and explore, explore the gardens, the Wicklow Mountains, several of the walks June recommends. We were only able to do one, the trail to the Miners Village on the Upper Lake. The house was adorable and kitchen was very nicely stocked. I would definitely recommend this house and would absolutely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.

“Amazing place to stay!”
The Turkey house is amazing place to stay. The beautiful building is a mixture of old and new. It is an upside down house which has lots of character with a modern twist. It is spacious but also has a warm and cosy feel to it. We really enjoyed cooking in its well equipped kitchen and chilling in the dining/lounge area. The bedrooms are grand and have 2 luxurious showers and a free standing bath to relax in. To top it off its in the beautiful location of June Blake's Gardens, which is a must see, when visiting Blessington. Such a stunning colourful garden. June herself, is very friendly and welcoming, she gave us lots of information on places to visit in the area. Her staff were also very helpful too on our stay. Such an special place to stay, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants that special experience.
