There are a fair amount of things eager for your attention at this villa on the east coastline of Sicily. In one direction, you're treated to swoon-worthy views of the Mediterranean Sea stretching out to the horizon, but the home's palatial design and excellent amenities demand closer inspection, too.
A short tour around the house reveals grand columns, glossy floor tiling and an enviable collection of objets d'art dotted about the place – we're particularly fond of the gilded mirror and ornate bedframe found in the sleeping quarters. The huge windows and glass doors are especially generous when it comes to natural light and also lead out to peaceful balconies.
Of course, given Sicily's famously agreeable climate, you'll probably want to spend as much time outside as physically possible and that's easily done here. Out on the large grounds, there's everything from an infinity swimming pool and sunken Jacuzzi to a leafy garden complete with a gazebo that is the ideal place to catch the sunset.
When it comes to seeing a little more of the local area, the nearest beach is in Letojanni about 2km away, although Isola Bella is another pretty seaside spot about 7km away. The mountainside town of Taormina is a 10km-drive down the coastline and has much to discover along the medieval streets.
