This place was god awful. The smell was repulsive. The lights/shower/fireplace didn’t work properly. Absolute rip off at >£110 per night. The owner was rude and unhelpful when we raised the issues. Sykes cottages were useless and continue to host a completely awful substandard property. Unless your life depends on it, do not stay here.

Good central location but on a very very busy road. Five Concrete steps leading up to the ground floor accommodation, with a further nine concrete steps leading from the bedroom up to a tiny patio area at the rear of the property and a further four steps up to a gate which opens on to a road where parking was possible on a first come first serve basis. No drop off or pick up at the front of property. Would not recommend this property for someone with mobility problems.

The apartment is large and very well set out. It is very comfortable and a pleasure to get back to after a day out. It is also ideally situated near to all local amenities and car parking.

The flat was very close to all amenities, very handy to bus, train stations, shops and only two minutes walk from the harbour. We had a lovely holiday, the flat was furnished to a very high standard with everything matching, and was spotlessly clean. A lovely flat.

We have just returned from this lovely apartment after spending a very pleasant week there. we found it both welcoming and warm, good quality furniture and fittings, it was a pleasure coming back to after a day out. I really cant believe the last reviewers were at the same place!, yes! Whitby will always have a problem with parking, its because its so popular, and if these people had done their homework they would have known this is the case wherever you stay!! we will definitely return & recommend to friends.

The apartment has a macerator waste system, that is not on the holiday details. We were not told until a couple of weeks before our holiday. The system is noisy and smelly! The only opening window in the apartment is in the kitchen. The road noise is clearly audible. The bed has a waterproof mattress protector that makes you really hot at night. The tenants in the flat above are up early and the floor is obviously wooden, so a lye-in is impossible. The biggest problem is parking, a good ten minutes up and down very steep hills, not for the faint hearted!
