A large kitchen-dining area forms the heart of the house. This area along with the living room and utility is set on a lower level to the bedrooms.

The first floor comprises the largest bedroom of the house with spectacular views out to the sea. This room makes an ideal family room as it contains a sofa bed which means there is room for an extra two people.

The large garden leads down to the beach and features a sheltered seating area which is great for eating outside and barbecues.

Wonderful house in a superb location
My extended family had a superb holiday in Sycamore House. It is a beautiful house, very spacious and so well equipped. We loved the garden which sloped down to the shoreline where we had morning and evening gatherings. The location had something for everyone. Some went for long hikes on the Burren while others spent days on the beach, there was fishing too. The house is just a stroll from the village, with restaurants and good pubs. Definitely five star +

"Great Place in a quaint town"

This is a great property. We had ten people and we stayed 3 nights, during the first week of March. It has very generous bedrooms and bathrooms. The view is outstanding.

We had been traveling all day so we unfortunately never met Seamus in person. However, we talked through messages and text. He was kind enough to go to the house before we got there on a rainy night and warmed it up. He had music on and both fireplaces burning, it was a great way to walk in after a really long day.

The property is a great base for a lot of activities on the Atlantic coast. We visited Galway, Ailwee Cave, the Cliffs of Moher, and the Wild Atlantic Way on day trips. The town of Ballyvaughan is a lovely villageand Seamus’ place is a great base. If you’ve got a big party this is a great house .

Seamus’ day trip suggestions were excellent. The trip to Clifden along the Wild Atlantic Way was one of the highlights of our trip. His suggestion about Monks restaurant right down the street was also great. Their seafood chowder was spectacular.

We would enthusiastically recommend this property for any large group. It’s a winner

"A family (8 adults & 5 children) weekend break"

The house provided plenty of space for all 13 of us without ever feeling crowded. The open plan kitchen, dining and family room was perfect for meal times and relaxing in front of the huge fire stove either playing board games or watching a movie with the kids. The upstairs lounge with the smaller stove lent itself to quieter more relaxed atmosphere for later in the evenings - excellent. The bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds. There is a pub/seafood restaurant about 100m down the street at the pier, which we visited on several occasions over the 3 days. Although Storm Dennis was also visiting Clare, at the same time, we did manage visits to the Cliffs of Moher, Galway City and local walks. All in all a great time had by all at Lisheen House. Seamus Marlborough, our host, was very responsive with any requests before our visit and was friendly and welcoming on our arrival and took the time to go through all the key info regarding house facilities and local amenities.

I would definitely stay here again if visiting Co. Clare in the future.

"Storm Jorge'

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful property. We were confined to the house during the red alert and we were so cosy with both stoves going.

Fantastic property and really well equipped. Spotlessly clean. Seamus and Mary were the perfect hosts...

"Perfect stay"

Seamus was a great host. Greeted us upon arrival and thoroughly explained everything.

Great place for a large group. Wonderful floor plan, lots of room for either privacy or mingling. All the rooms are super comfortable. It was so helpful that there was a good supply of fire logs and we thoroughly enjoyed the fireplaces.

Seamus was a delightful host and very helpful. Highly recommend!

"Outstanding, well worth a return visit"
Everything from booking to checkout was very professional, beautiful homely feeling around the house, warm, comfortable, full of space and very welcoming. Would highly recommend this home for an experience rather than a stay. Keep up the good work and I hope to be in a position to make a return visit during the year. Well done to one and all. Majella
