"The most beautiful view ever!" By far one of my favorite places ever. Beautifully decorated to make you feel this is your home (if you were the landed gentry). The staff is incredible, friendly, kind so helpful. We had a room on top floor w views to take your breath away. An added plus is the indoor pool pavilion, modern yet blends in w the manor house. I would plan a trip to return here as a must.

"Luxurious getaway in heavenly location" We spent two wonderful nights at Screebe House just outside Rosmuc. Our first visit and only positive online reviews to go on, and this lovely small country house hotel was a delight. Beautiful, comforts rooms with stunning views, lovely food and exceptional service. Proprietor Ursula and her hardworking staff are friendly and helpful and the old world charm and calm ambience of Screebe helps it you feel instantly at home. We’ll definitely go back - and while we were blessed to be there during a heatwave, it would make for a great cosy winter retreat too. The coastal setting is magnificent with lovely gardens and stunning views. Good value too, for a quality experience.

"A little treat" On a beautiful sunny evening, on our way back from the Aran Islands and feeling peckish, we stopped here to have some food. We were not disappointed. While we only had starters and a glass of wine, staff were friendly and accommodating when we requested to sit outside to take in the views and enjoy the sun going down. We had the goats cheese starter and the smoked salmon, both delicious. Thanks to Cliona, Niamh and Evelyn who looked after us so well. When we come back we will plan it better to enjoy the whole menu and the atmosphere. Thank you

"A-maz-ing!!" Our first visit to Screebe House was earlier in March this year which was booked as a salmon fishing trip, a fantastic Christmas present from my wife, and having fell in love with the place and the people we have just returned again in May for more of the same. We have been fortunate to stay at some beautiful and amazing places all over the world and Screebe is somewhere where we will return for hopefully many years to come. A beautiful house run by Ursula, the best host ever, and Neil, the perfect guide for your day's fishing. The great smell from the open fires (yes plural) greets you as you enter and the restaurant, rooms and the spa have the most amazing views across the lakes. The surrounding area is just stunning with peace and tranquillity in abundance. I could sit here and write pages and pages of good stuff but my only advice is to experience it for yourself - I'm sure you will not be disappointed if you are looking for a relaxing stay. The only thing missing was the elusive salmon but I was told one fish for every one thousand casts!! Can't wait to come back.

"Amazing Gastronomical Experience" I recently stayed in Screebe House in Connemara. It had been recommended by friends who live locally and we really wanted to get out of Dublin for a couple of days and stay somewhere tranquil. I have to say from start to finish it was one of the best places we have ever stayed. We were welcomed by the Owner, Ursula and given an amazing room overlooking the lakes of Connemara. Screebe House isn't just a house it is a huge estate with beautiful lakes, woodlands and fantastic facilities. The House itself is Victorian with beautiful lounge areas and fires on throughout the house which makes for a very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. There is a spa with a lovely pool which overlooks the lakes as well. So Although it is a Victorian Manor it also provides all the modern amenities one would like without ever having to leave the hotel, this is exactly what we were looking for. We came for the Hotel but we stayed for the Food!! A gastronomic journey is the best way we could describe it. The Dining room is exceptional, the owner very welcoming and we were made aware that there was a new Head Chef, so we weren't sure what to expect. However as soon as we saw the Menu we were extremely surprised by the choice, variety and the creativity used to prepare this Menu and we literally wanted to try everything.I mean imagine finding a real french Bouillabaise in the middle of Connemara,it was not what we expected. The steak tartare was superb, we had mussels made in the traditional french way and his meat was cooked to perfection and with such finesse and again creativity with an explosion of tastes on his plates . We could not complain about portion size either, we had friends who had stayed in Screebe before and they had said the portions were very small, well this Chef certainly knew what his guests wanted. We had the pleasure of speaking with him at the end of the evening. Chef Oliver Jasko spoke with us at great length about his experience. His passion for food and for pleasing his guests was evident in his enthusiasm and it was a delight talking with him. He is the reason that prompted us to write this review as the flair and creativity shown in his use of local produce and even the use of Screebe's own natural produce, which he did with such affinity brought us on an "Amazing Gastronomical Journey" and we want to thank him by writing this review. We certainly hope to return soon and can't wait to see what he has in store for us next time !!!
