Although we did not stay or eat at the house we were warmly welcomed offered coffee and given instructions for our day fishing on the estate our Gillie Hugh was one of the most caring and knowledgeable gillies I have fished with.
We will definitely be back to fish and stay at the country house.
We wish Vida and Simon the best for the future.

Simply wonderful
We only stayed one night but, so relaxing was our time there, it felt like a longer break. Ideally located in the wilds of Connemara, it is a great base for exploring the boreens, lakes mountains, bays and little harbours that make up this beautiful corner of Ireland. Coyne's Gastro pub is a short drive away for a delicious lunch.
The atmosphere is calm, serene even, indoors and out. The staff are lovely; special mention to Íde, Wendy and Niamh for their service.
Ursula is the epitome of the perfect host. She keeps a close eye on everything, serving tables, engaging with guests, explaining the menu thoroughly and making sure your stay is top notch. Dinner and breakfast were exquisite.
We can't wait to go back.

"Staycation in Connemara"
Fabulous stay home away from home with the lovely Ursula and her home-grown team on the Wild Atlantic Way, Connemara.
Screebe House, one of the former hunting lodges of Ballynahinch Castle, lovingly preserved - no modern guestrooms, all ten bedrooms in the original house.
The only noticeable modern addition is the wonderful Screebe Spa - steam with a picture window giving onto the Atlantic and then either dip in the state of the art swimming or plunge into the gloriously refreshing sea at garden's end

"Simply Wonderful"
We have just returned home after spending three fabulous nights in this beautiful Hotel.
From the first moment of arrival, to the last moment before we left, everything was just perfect.

This Hotel, is truly a hidden gem in South Connemara, a little oasis of calm, tranquil peaceful surroundings, like time, stood still.

Our room was divine with amazing views and the bed was just so comfortable.
All meals were outstanding, food cooked beautifully and excellent service.
The Spa was just excellent and my facial was first class.

Ursula and her team, ensure all your needs are met and much more besides, her eye to detail and what her guests may want is always provided.
Nothing is too much trouble and done with willingness and a smile.
The atmosphere is both warm and welcoming, we so look forward to our return visit.

"Fabulous stay"
Myself and my partner had a lovely, relaxed stay here recently.
The atmosphere was very comfortable despite the current restrictions and all the staff were lovely and helpful. Ursula, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure everyone was well taken care of.The house is gorgeous, the grounds are beautiful and our room was overlooking the stunning lake. The food was exceptional - Max, the chef, is extremely talented! It is worth a trip for dinner alone!
We had a fantastic stay and will undoubtedly be back again soon.
