Bangor is a seaside resort on the south side of Belfast, within the Belfast Metropolitan Area, a commuter town for the Greater Belfast area, linked by the A2 road and the Belfast–Bangor railway line. Bangor has an impressive history of monastic settlements dating back to the 6th century and is excellent for shopping, quaint cafés and fine dining restaurants. Nearby is Crawfordsburn Country Park, on the shores of Belfast Lough, with tranquil walks, woodland glens, a stunning waterfall and seating areas; this is the perfect place to indulge all your senses.
Belfast City is just 14 miles, and was the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, which famously struck an iceberg and sunk in 1912, this legacy is recalled in the renovated dockyards’ Titanic Quarter. The city has so much to offer, sights to see, things to do, all year round or lose yourself in a book in Belfast’s oldest library that dates back to 1788, this is a haven of tranquillity. Beach 6½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 3½ miles.
