"Excellent Place with Excellent Hospitality"
Pear Tree is a wonderful find. One of the best places I've ever stayed at. Set in the countryside but actually only a very short drive from Belfast; very convenient for the City Airport and City Centre and main road links. We stayed for 2 nights but would happily have stayed for much longer if we’d had the time. The whole place is stylish, tidy and clean. An exquisite bathroom (with underfloor heating), dressing gowns, slippers, smart TV, Wi-Fi that works, Nespresso machine (and selection of pods), fridge (topped up with water and milk), comfy mattress and deep pile carpet. On arrival we were greeted by Avril, who gave us a tour of the room and features. Then offered tea and coffee and cakes in the lounge upstairs which has a large full wall window overlooking the rolling scenery to the West, a great way to relax after a journey. Avril was also more than happy to provide advice and a map. Breakfast is home cooked with a great choice and ordered before 8 the night before. I’ve eaten a lot of hotel breakfasts but never have I had such a wonderful Eggs Benedict as I did here. So I had it both mornings. I believe Ian deserves credit for these (I’d be more than happy for evening meals to provided based on the quality of the food). Breakfast can be served in your room or on the mezzanine; again with an open side glass wall to let the light flood in and enjoy the countryside view. Fortunately on this occasion we were without children and the accommodation is for adults and would suit a base for exploring Northern Ireland, or for business (given the quick drive into Belfast) or just a romantic break. Parking is no issue as there are only a small number of rooms. Overall an exceptional place to stay where the hospitality matches the quality of the accommodation and we hope to return one day.
