Over the Treetops: Attica

This peach-coloured villa positioned between the Aegean Sea and Athens is a truly extraordinary home. A lot of this is down to the swimming pool that sits in the middle of the outdoor space, which is surrounded by lush Mediterranean foliage, plenty of loungers and even a bar.

In the generously sized interior, you'll find plenty more communal spaces dedicated to nothing more strenuous than relaxation. The large windows and glass doors let in copious amounts of natural light, which goes only too nicely with the white walls and rich brown floorboards. Bright pieces of artwork and a collection of patterned rugs add some character to the space, while the Jacuzzi bathtub just off the master bedroom is a luxurious addition.

The location offers plenty of distractions nearby. If you want a day at the seaside, head to Paralia Grand Beach – or maybe you'd prefer to explore the coastal towns of Vouliagmeni and Glyfada.

Home truths:
*Of the seven bedrooms, six are in the main villa, but there's also a guest house with the remaining bedroom, a living room, kitchen and bathroom
*There's room to park on the premises, including in the garage
*The main villa has three floors, so it might not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility
