Westport Country House: Mayo

The house is spacious and well-appointed with gas-fired central heating and constant hot water. There is a good broadband connection with wifi and smart TV. The house faces south and is set in its own extensive wild garden which includes a large pond for local creatures and birds to live and play in. There are spectacular views from many of the windows.

The house is located in the small, friendly, village of Mullagh in an area of mountain and moorland, extensive beaches, beautiful walks and cycleways.
Guests can also avail of a free boat tour of spectacular Killary Fjord.
Clew Bay with its sheltered beaches, just 4kms away. Louisburgh village with its quaint shops and cafés, just 5kms away. Drive east, 20kms, along the beautiful Clew Bay coast road to the bustling town of Westport with its great restaurants to suit every taste and many shops.

Refreshing and relaxing stay at this beautiful oasis close to Westport and at the feet of Croagh Patrick. I would highly recommend this place, our host had a fantastic kitchen to cook in and we were only moments away from delicious food and music at local taverns. James is a very kind host anticipating our needs and generously connecting us with tickets to the Killary Fjord boat tour as part of our stay. This was one of the favorite parts of our trip!

We loved our stay at James’ house. His gardens and tiny pond (frogs and newts were found by my girls!!) were wonderful. The house itself is spacious and colorful, and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. James gave us great advice on our day trips (Crough Patrick especially - highly recommended hike if you can manage hills) and we took advantage of his complimentary boat trip which was delightful. Thoroughly enjoyed it all!!

Wonderful place! Nestled into the countryside, surrounded by stone hedges, greenery and flowers, the sounds of sheep. The music of County Mayo. We were completely enchanted. James has truely poured his heart into every detail. Clew Bay, Achill Island and Craugh Patrick are all a short drive from there.

Lovely house on a quiet road. James is an great host - had home made scones & jam for us on the day we arrived and provides a free boat trip on killary fjord (highly recommended). Really enjoyed our stay ..

We had a great stay here. The house is very clean and spacious.
James is very friendly, easy communication. He organised a boat tour for us on Killary Fjord, which was great.

Beautiful property better than described. The artwork and design is outstanding.
An added, unexpected bonus was the gardens. Flowers everywhere you look. Breathtaking!!!.
Another added bonus is that the property is dog friendly. That’s important to us.
We will strive to stay with James when we come to Westport. Well done sir.
