“Sometimes it's the little extras that make all the difference”
I stayed as a group of six guys in Mourne Eacape for two nights at the start of May for a golfing break before my wedding in July. Mervyn and his wife met us on the Friday afternoon and showed us around the house, including how all the gadgets work and lighting etc. The house itself is truly magnificent, with some fantastic views, with nothing but luxury touches throughout. A small welcome pack including milk, butter etc was left for us which was a really nice touch. I have stayed in possibly 12-14 different hotels and apartments throughout Europe this past year through work and leisure, and I can honestly say that Mourne Escape would rank as number 1. Not just in terms of the accommodation provided, it was the whole experience. You really get a sense of staying in a home from home for a few days and that is just what we wanted. The facilities and size of the house are just right for a small group heading away for a few days. Mervyn and his wife provided a great welcome and did not hesitate to answer any questions we had before and during our stay. One of my friends left something behind, and this was delivered back to us a few days later which was very throughful. Our only complaint was that the BBQ did not seem to be working during our stay, which was a shame as that was one of the reasons why we picked Mourne Escape in the first place. However we did receive some portable temporary BBQ's once the problem was noted, which was a nice touch. This did not take away from what was a truly fantastic weekend, and all served with a smile from the owners. A home from home, and only a few miles away from the Mourne Mountains. What more could you ask for? RK
