Unexpected luxury - a hidden gem at the foot of the Mournes
We stayed for a 5 day break whilst visiting family nearby. Lurganconary Farm has two cottages - Plumtree and Sand. The photos and description on their website really do not do the accommodation justice! The cottages are immaculately refurbished, very tastefully furnished and have everything you might need (or forget to pack) - right down to waterproofs, umbrellas, board games and hot water bottles! Underfloor heating throughout, top quality fitted furniture, extensive kitchen items and basic provisions (tea, coffee, sugar and a very 'welcome' welcome basket). The wood fired stove was a real treat and we enjoyed the view across fields to the local church and primary school. The bathrooms were also great (that underfloor heating particularly enjoyable) and the showers hot and very powerful. Our hostess was very friendly and thorough in her tour of the facilities. The two cottages are accessed via a private lane with a remote controlled gated entrance - so very secure and private. The cottage was spotlessly clean on our arrival and rental included all bedding and towels, which was very handy on our 'hand luggage only' trip. Only a few minutes' drive to the beach or the mountains. A real 'home away from home' if our own home were only this nice!

“Another fantastic stay”

This was our third visit and was every bit as excellent as our previous two.The cottage is secluded in beautiful surroundings and is in close proximity to The Mournes, coastal areas and kilkeel. The cottage facilities are modern, luxurious and equiped to the highest standards. All the staff are helpful, considerate, extremely friendly and go out of their way to ensure their guests have a great time.

Our family had a fantastic view days at Plum Tree Cottage, the décor was first class with all the facilities you could ever wont, stunning views, amazing walks and the added bonus of a beach near by. We will definitely by back.

“Luxury in a beautiful part of the world...”

Short and sweet stay in these stunning cottages - Plum Cottage was one of two. The close attention to interior and exterior detail and the very friendly welcome made our stay exceptional! Loved the donkeys!!
