"Great family house on Loch Ine" This was our second visit to Loch Ine House. Fabulous setting for our 3 generational holiday. Beautiful views of the Loch. Just like an Agatha Christie film set, we even organised our own murder mystery game here! We rented the small Gatehouse this time as well- a lovely haven to get away from all, you feel you are waking up right on the Loch in this little house.

With its amazing location on the stunning lough Hyne we found the gate lodge a perfect base for both exploring West Cork and for relaxing while soaking up the beauty of our surroundings. This charming lodge has a definite rustic appeal. Irene was very helpful and we enjoyed the complimentary use of the row boat to explore the lake.

Our stay at the Gate Lodge was really idyllic. Beautiful location, and the weather was great as well.. We sailed our little boat and explored all round the Lough. Peaceful place, swallows swooped outside, a seal appeared from time to time, and one morning early a sea otter was catching fish and laying on it's back to eat as it floated by. A full moon reflected on the mirrored waters. Who could ask for more. The Lodge was cosy and comfortable, we lit the fire in the evening with the marvelous supply of logs.
