Let’s start at the top – by which we mean the roof terrace. You’ll be spending a lot of time up here admiring sweeping views of the city and ocean as you sip negronis. Lie back on the sun lounger while someone else fires up the barbecue – freshly grilled fish accompanied by local bread and olive oil will be a fabulous start to your Puglian adventure. When you eventually make it indoors, you’ll find high, vaulted ceilings and an understated colour palette, making the home feel calm and airy. On a rare chilly evening, light up the fire in the lounge and snuggle up with a glass of red.

*Car access and parking is restricted in the historical centre during summer, but you can pay for parking 700 metres away (or your nearest bus stop is just a four-minute stroll)
