This fabulous, detached stone holiday cottage with a private, secluded swimming pool and garden, lies in the spacious & mature grounds of the discreet French owners home. Its elevated position, with a separate gated entrance, offers distant views across the wooded valley, towards the pretty riverside market town of Montignac, home to the world famous Lascaux 4 caves, which is open throughout the year. Decorated and furnished to a very high standard, along with contemporary features that blend beautifully with the original exposed limestone walls, oak beams and fireplace. This sought after location within the heart of the Perigord Noir is also close to Sarlat, renowned for its stunning architecture, weekly markets of regional produce and many good eateries. Canoe hire, cycle hire, walking and riding are all found locally with riverside restaurants along the Vézère river at Montignac, Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, known as one of Frances most beautiful villages, Les Eyzies-de-Tayac-Sireuil to visit the National history museum and the Font-de-Gaume caves are worth a visit and Château de Losse, Château de Hautefort and Roque Saint-Christophe - a troglodytic city are a must visit. The Dordogne river, La Roque-Gageac and Domme are within a easy driving distance. This breathtaking area is dotted with gravity defying Chateaux, golden stone houses and fields of sunflowers and maize and never fails to delight. Fly via Brive ( 30minutes away) or Bergerac..
