Killaghy Castle: Tipperary

Magnificently set in a prime 240-acre estate, this unique Irish Castle has been sympathetically updated to cater for private rentals, family gatherings, celebrations, wedding and golf parties. With many outstanding features, Killaghy offers super spacious rooms with 14-foot ceilings, ornate cornices and impressive marble fireplaces. The property is owned and operated by the Collins family who currently farm extensively on the estate.

The Castle is situated 300 yards from the village of Mullinahone, Co. Tipperary, and is ideally located for touring the South East of Ireland. The property has beautiful views and is perfect for relaxation and leisure breaks.

Comfortably accommodating up to twenty-three guests. Each bedroom is unique in decor with its old world charm and every modern convenience you could require.

Poets come to visit for the Kickham festival held annually in August. Poetry reading takes place at this time in the walled garden of the property, and is a real delight to experience for Killaghy castle residents.

A large terrace area equipped with seating is ideal for BBQs during the Summer months. Two tennis courts and children's playground are located at the entrance to the castle.

Family of 19 members all stayed at Killaghy Castle July 8-16/2023. Maria Collins and her daughter, were unbelievable hosts! We visited to celebrate a family 60th wedding anniversary . All of the information and questions were answered in a seem less manner. Maria helped with the arrangements for both the church and a wonderful reception at a local pub and. The children and grandchildren will be talking about their fairytale visit to Ireland and Killaghey:

"Killaghy Castle A+++++!"

We had a family group of 12 adults and 6 children. Everyone loved the castle! It was so beautiful and so comfortable, everyone felt right at home. We traveled a lot during our stay and took a day to decompress and relax at the castle. Everyone thought that was one of the highest points. The walled garden was perfect for the kids to kick around a soccer ball while we grilled out. Maria was available but we had everything we needed to make for a dynamite stay.

"Best ever"

We had an excellent time at the castle! It is so spacious we were never in each other’s way and we had 20 related and unrelated individuals there! It is lovely but not so upscale that you’re afraid to sit down or touch anything- it felt like home. We made dinner each night - it was a very workable kitchen- Edward Obrien the butcher in town could not have been nicer! The best part for us was we could be in an historic building in a fairly damp country in the spring and not one of my highly allergic guests had a bit of trouble- I’m was so pleased! I could not recommend this stay more- thanks!

"The Collins family are fabulous hosts. The castle was very clean and well appointed. It was perfect!"

The home is well located in central Ireland. It is a nice small village. The Pubs are in easy walking distance. There is a really nice play ground just outside the castle with activities for children of varying ages. Our family had a great time and we will be back. There is a very nice garden with a wide lawn area just made for a celebration. We are thinking it would be a great spot for our nieces wedding.

Everything about our stay from the owners of T J Mack's Pub, local pizza and grocery just added more to our favorite memories of this enchanting country. Can't wait for a return visit.
