House in The Highlands: The Highlands

With many small towns and villages spread across Ross shire, you have some fabulous options for long or short days out. Dingwall (3 miles) offers easy access to local shops, cafes, and restaurants. For city explorers, Inverness is only 17 miles, and the historic Culloden Moor, well worth a visit, is 21 miles. There are many highland games and shows held in the region with the beautiful village and beaches of Dornoch (28 miles). For those with a passion for golf, this locale is a dream come true. Tee off against the stunning backdrop of the Cromarty Firth at the nearby Alness Golf Course, where every swing is accompanied by panoramic views of the Scottish Highlands. Immerse yourself in the rich tradition of Scottish whisky by exploring the nearby distilleries such as Glenmorangie (20 miles). Embark on a guided tour, savouring the aromas and flavours of the region's finest single malts. This charming farmhouse is nestled in the picturesque parish of Kiltearn, just a few miles north of Dingwall, on the hillside above the Cromarty Firth. Upon entering this beautiful, luxurious, renovated farmhouse, you ll arrive at a spacious cloakroom area, where you can kick off your shoes or wellies and hang up outdoor jackets. With underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, your toes will be toasty in no time. The open plan living area seamlessly combines the kitchen, dining, and living spaces. The kitchen catches your eye with its beautiful elm worktop on the large kitchen island. The dining table is strategically placed near floor to ceiling windows that allow natural light to flood the area, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, perfect for preparing meals for family and friends. Just off the kitchen, you will find a snug area with a wood burner and a Smart TV, creating the perfect social space when cooking in the kitchen. Adjacent to the snug is an additional lounge, an ideal spot for unwinding with a book or enjoying intimate conversations. An additional wood burner adds to the cosy atmosphere, perfect for movie nights in a comfortable and stylish setting. You will also find a combined games room and utility area, with a pool table and various games. This multi functional space allows for both recreation and practical needs, such as laundry and storage. Conveniently located on the ground floor is a modern shower room, providing an extra level of comfort and accessibility for guests. Ascending the stairs, you ll reach the bedrooms. Each of the three rooms comes with its own en suite, ensuring privacy and convenience for everyone staying. The twin room is particularly special, featuring an additional gallery sitting area, perfect space for your morning yoga (mats provided) or reading. This farmhouse provides a perfect blend of modern amenities and luxurious countryside charm, an ideal retreat for a group or family looking to enjoy a holiday in the northern Highland countryside. Outside, the large rear garden is enclosed and a great space for some outdoor games with the children. There is also a patio area with garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ and firepit. As this is located close to a working farm, you may get the opportunity to meet the very friendly and cute Valais (Swiss) sheep and possibly the Highland cows and calves who are kept in the paddock close to the front of the property at different times of the year. Fishing can also be offered close by with arrangements with the owner.
